Open Hearts Family Wellness Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary

Behavioral Health Organization’s new name and image identity overhauled after 43 years of service to the community

Phoenix, AZ (February 21, 2017) — A long-standing behavioral health and wellness organization here in the Valley celebrated its first anniversary of saying farewell to its former name and brand identity and hello to Open Hearts Family Wellness. In February of 2016, Open Hearts Family Wellness, along with its Board of Directors and Staff, unveiled their new brand identity during a community gathering at the Heard Museum. The presentation of the new name, Mission, Vision and Values honored the community, the organization’s leadership, and its new holistic approach to family wellness.

“Since 1974 our work has focused on children, youth and families,” said Open Hearts Board of Directors President Javier Puig. “The new brand embodies a more authentic and approachable way to convey our vision and work while promoting a family’s wellbeing. It’s amazing to see all the work that Argie has done for the organization and I can’t wait to see where the next few years will take us.”

President & CEO Arjelia “Argie” Gomez took the helm of the organization in July 2015. She, along with six other talented women in the leadership team has taken Open Hearts to new levels in the behavioral health and wellness field. Open Hearts first opened its doors in 1974 to develop a new model of community-based services and remains dedicated and true to its mission to provide holistic, quality services to support the well-being of people and the communities to which they belong.

“The new brand, Open Hearts, better embodies the comprehensive work we deliver every single day to strengthen our communities. We are here to support families as they work to transform their lives,” said Arjelia “Argie” Gomez, adding that, “Walking beside our clients is what gives Open Hearts an edge because we listen and we care.”

The rebranding was generously supported in part by loyal partners such as Humana, Paragon Partners LTD, Principal Financial Group, Salt River Project and USI Insurance Services. Support from community partners has been crucial over the past 30 years and Open Hearts credits some of their success with the support of the community.

Most recently, Open Hearts delivers integrated care through a noted best practice and formal collaborative agreement with Mountain Park Health Center. Families arriving at either site can be referred and served with their care coordinated in a high quality manner. This partnership means families can have comprehensive services for their children knowing both primary and behavioral health service providers are a virtual team consulting to ensure high standards of care.
